Joe Namath defied the odds- makers with his "guarantee" of victory a few days before the game, but then followed through on his boast by leading the Jets to one of the most stupendous upsets in pro football history. Many consider this to be one of the "landmark" games of all time. Namath completed 17 of 28 passes for 206 yards. He was not intercepted. He was named the game's Most Valuable Player. |
